Spring, maybe?

 Top: Gap, $9
Blazer: H&M, $20
Jeans: JCPenneys, $15
Scarf: Target, old
Purse: H&M, $28

Spring has finally sprung in these parts! At least slightly. I'm pretty sure we're out of the woods with the daily average temps of 30 degrees, anyway. This feels like it's been the longest winter ever, doesn't it? Anyway. Today I wanted to dress for spring, so I brought out my new pink blazer to try out and paired it with a scarf that looks kinda floral-y from far away but is actually just a bunch of splotches of colors. Fancy, huh?

I've wanted a pink blazer for a long time, but I always go for really structured blazers. It's hard to find a good, structured blazer under $80-90 to begin with, but in pink? Not likely to happen. I finally settled on this more casual, sweater-type-material blazer from H&M. Mostly because it was marked down to $20. But I left the tag on all the way until I left the house this morning (or maybe it's still on there, and I'm lying to you all, and I have a phobia of removing tags off of clothing until I post them on the blog and get your approval... GUESS YOU'LL NEVER KNOW!). But! I believe we have ourselves a winner.

I also haven't ever really gotten into pattern mixing a ton. I'm not opposed to it, probably moreso afraid of it than anything else. And here is my baby step in that direction, I suppose. Does it count? Yes? Maybe? Neat.

  3. I love this outfit! I really like the bright colors of the scarf and blazer, and from the photos I wouldn't have known that it wasn't a more structured blazer. Your outfit definitely counts as pattern mixing. I love wearing a striped top with a fun patterned scarf.

  4. Definitely counts! It's fun seeing the 'splotches' with the stripes and your blazer choice is perfect! I kinda like the sweater, relaxed blazers better than some of the structured ones out there. Spring has sprung here too! FINALLY!!

  8. you may not have intended for me to sing this title like call me maybe, but, oh, i did.

i might have to make a trip to H&M to see if i can find this blazer. i played the "what you would like me to wear more?" game with dago today and he said blazers. and this one is pink and soft, so i need it. defo a win.

also, i tried on a pair of really high wedges today at target that i've been lusting after and promptly fell. then i raised my fist and yelled "HOW DOES LYNETTE WEAR THESE THINGS!?" yeah. i don't even know.

  11. Great blazer -- you should definitely rip the tags! Loved that you styled it with some of my favorite spring pieces -- stripes and florals. Looks great!

  13. I've been wanting the perfect pink blazer too! This is the second time I've seen this gorgeous H&M one... time to run to the Mall of America and find it!

  14. I love your outfit, Lynette!! You know exactly how to look sophisticated and fun at the same time...and on a budget! Your blazer looks super structured, but probably feels incredibly comfortable. Girl, I hear you on the pattern mixing. I'm not a fan of extreme pattern mixing, but what you've done is just perfect. Baby steps, indeed!!

  15. I love this outfit on you. Maybe I take clothes for a test spin before removing tags... but maybe I don't. I'm totally with you on not spending $$$ for something like a fun blazer. I just wish I had an H&M nearby so I could take advantage of the amazing deals. Or I'll just make friends with someone who does and get them to send me stuff. Maybe not.

  17. I love the bright pink blazer! I actually tried one on (maybe the same one!) at H&M this weekend, but ended up getting the black one instead. Now I am wondering if I made the wrong choice!

  19. Both you and your blog are so cute! I love the pink blazer - it's been on my wishlist for spring, too, and I think I was actually looking at this exact one (my co-worker has it in black and I loved the casual vibe it had) but went I went to get it, it was gone in my size! Such a bummer! It's adorable, and I love the stripes & printed scarf with it! Following you now! :)

  20. girl these pictures are so cute! the bokeh, the hair, the colors, the body.

also, don't tell anyone, but i almost always wear something once with the tags still in. I KNOW. it's bad, but I don't want to forever (ok, a few years) own something if I don't actually like it after a day, ya know? don't judge.

  22. Dying over that scarf!! So pretty. I leave tags on all the time, sometimes the photos show them and I forget to not use that photo LOL. Jacket and rest of the out fit approved, love the pop of color.

  24. You're making me wish I could wear hot pink, but sadly, I can't. Red hair and pink don't mix - so I stick to wearing it on the bottom half of my person.

  25. Great blazer! I thought we had the same blazer because I recently picked up my magenta blazer from H&M on sale, but I went and checked and mine has a different sleeve lining so maybe it's not the same one. Regardless, it;s super cute and a really pretty color on you! Can't wait to see how else you wear it because I'm fo sho going to steal your outfits :)
